Anyone with insight?

We know governments are stepping up their game. Capital has been issued to help strengthen balance sheets all over the shop. So, maybe we don't have to fear a bank run. Interest rates are being slashed all over as if Freddie from Elm Street was in charge of global monetary policies. So maybe we don't need to fear a liquidity crisis. Investment Banks have morphed into Bank Holding Structures. Ok, so maybe we don't have to fear Lehman part 2.

But what exactly is being done to the home mortgages that are really squeezing the shit out of the homeowners? This is a fundamental problem that I rarely hear being addressed in the news. If anyone knows, please let me know. It's such a big issue, and for various reasons, I strongly believe that if this isn't looked into properly, there's a higher chance that we might see the onset of a prolonged economic (not financial) crisis. And that's what really sucks.
